East End Underground Live Concert Series presents:

The Music of Joe Delia

Joe Delia, award-winning film composer, will be telling stories with film and music to stir the senses at LTV studios.

During “The Music of Joe Delia” Joe will take the audience to many places by playing his iconic scores on piano and showing clips of some of the cult favorite films for which he has created music, including King of New York, Ms.45, Tommaso, The Tao of Steve, Siberia, and Padre Pio, as well as scores from Docuseries for Nova and the History Channel.

This show will illustrate, among many other things, how the choice of music makes all the difference to a scene; why musicians are always asking Delia questions about King of New York; and why David Bowie named his score to Ms.45 a work to be emulated.

JOE DELIA (singer/songwriter)

So far, Joe Delia has two gold records and one platinum. He is known internationally for his blazing blues piano onstage and his more than 40 feature film scores.

After being one of the first Muppets on the Ed Sullivan Show, Delia was signed to RCA Records in his early teens with the legendary Beatles manager Sid Bernstein as his manager. From there he leapt straight into success in the studios of New York City, writing, producing, and playing with such varied artists as Dusty Springfield, Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Little Eva, The Isley Brothers, Phoebe Snow, Pat Benatar, The Left Banke, Cory Daye, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, Louis Bellson, Grace Slick, Paul Hipp, and Dave Edmonds. Outside the studios, he has played live with Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards, Delbert McClinton and Chad Smith. Delia has also partnered on albums and tours with Kim Larsen, David Johansen, Richard Belzer, and Max Weinberg.

Joe has scored numerous documentaries and feature films, including classics “Ms 45”, “Bad Lieutenant”, “No Looking Back”, and “King of New York” along with more recent acclaimed films, “Siberia” and “Zeroes & Ones”with Ethan Hawke, Willem DaFoe, Chris Walken, Harvey Keitel, Madonna, Jon Bon Jovi, and Patti Scialfa, among others.

Delia is a popular singer/songwriter on the East End, where he plays various venues, bringing his originals, including regional favorite “Under the Montauk Moon.” He lives on the beach in Montauk, where he finds inspiration for new songs and soundtracks.
