The Bonackers, created by award-winning Producer and Director Joanne Friedland Roberts, is
the continually evolving story of the men and women who’ve fished and farmed the land and
seas of the East End of Long Island for almost 400 years. Struggling to survive in the midst of
the mansion filled Hamptons, they may well be the last of their kind.

You’ll meet these descendants of East Hampton’s first European settlers, as we head out onto
their boats and bays and into their pick-up truck, farms and homes. Historic footage from Local
TV East Hampton’s “hidden archive” is layered throughout our documentary, adding beauty,
depth and perspective.

After the screening, join our “Celebrating Bonac” holiday gathering, meeting long-time locals
and learning about their history, culture and traditions. Mix and mingle with your neighbors and
listen to Dan Koontz perform his original song, Fireplace Road.
